Pre-College Programming

The PRL pre-college curriculum is a comprehensive five-year program aiming to promote academic achievement, college and career exploration, and social and emotional wellness. With the goal of eliminating barriers and increasing access to postsecondary education, PRL provides funding and oversight for a college readiness program tailored to scholars in 8th-12th grade. Additionally, PRL offers a postsecondary scholarship to scholars who enroll as full-time students in an accredited institution of higher education, covering all tuition, living expenses, and technology needs for a four-year period.

Core Leadership Tenets

Our five-year curriculum is based on research and best practices surrounding what young people need to succeed.  We have nine leadership tenets that Scholars build upon each year:

Self-Awareness

Self-awareness is a vital aspect of leadership development in our pre-college program. We encourage our scholars to reflect on their own strengths, weaknesses, values, and emotions. By fostering self-awareness, we help them understand their unique talents and areas for growth. Through introspection, self-reflection exercises, and feedback from mentors, we empower our scholars to develop a deep understanding of themselves, enabling them to make conscious choices, manage their emotions, and build authentic connections with others.
